Jacaranda School Choir
Music is very important at Jacaranda School. In 2010 the children, with the help of German volunteers and using donated instruments, put together a school band with songs they composed themselves. In October 2010, their school band was invited to the Lake of Stars Festival, which saw them not only play their own fantastic set, but also a righteously brilliant collaboration with headliners Noisettes, resulting in one of the most memorable moments of the festival that year. Apart from the school band, they also have a school choir, and perform a host of African traditional dances.
